Interviw with Rydia
What do you think of the following people?
Cecil- (smiles)Cecil is like my brother. He was fighting
for such a great cause and I hated to see him in any pain,
especially when he found out Golbez was his brother. I am glad,
though, to see him now with Rosa and happier than ever.
Kain- (hesitant) Well, Kain was a good friend...and at times a great foe. I was happy to see that he was able to break free of Golbez's control and help us in the end.
Rosa- She kind of became my mother after my real mom passed away (lowers her head) She was the one that helped me overcome my fears of fire when I had to melt the ice block going to Fabul. She is a great person and will be very happy with Cecil.
Cid- (smiles) Cid was unlike any man I have never met before! He and Edge butted heads, but that is because they are both stubborn! Cid is a great man though, with a heart of gold, even though he can be a little arrogant at times.
Edge-(blushes) Well, when I first met Edge, I thought he was the most cocky, inconsiderate person I had ever met. But then...his soft side began to show when he started to trust us, especially me. He is SO handsome!.......Did I say that??? Don't tell him or his ego will only inflate more!
Palom and Porom- Although I never got to fight firsthand with them, I did meet them at Cecil and Rosa's wedding. That little Palom is so cute! He made sure to tell me all about his spectacular magic and how he and his sister turned themselves to stone! Porom was much more reticulate, but she was a nice person...she kept hitting her brother in the head though!
Yang- Yang is so cool! He is the greatest karate man I have ever met. It was so heroic of him when he jumped into the sea after me when Leviatan attacked us! He is such a noble and honest man and would always help his friends in a bind. He proved that when he almost killed himself trying to destroy Lugae's machine!
Edward- I met Edward when I was a little girl. It was so sad when he lost Anna. I remember telling him that he was a cry baby! How rude of me!:) Though he wasn't a very strong man, without him, we never could have gotten the Sand Ruby and Rosa would have died!
Golbez- (angry) He is definetaly NOT my favorite man on this earth! It is hard that he can be related to such a good man like Cecil. A good LONG sleep on the moon should do him good.
Zeromus- Don't get me started.
Tellah- I learned a lot about magic from Tellah. He was one of the greatest sages in the land. It was so sad to hear that he had died avenging Anna. At least they can be together now.
King Giott- He was such a great man! He, or ANY of the dwarves didn't let their size stop them from fighting.
How did you feel when your mother was killed and your
village was destroyed?:
(sadly) I was devastated, Cristi, as you could imagine. When I
found out that it was Cecil and Kain that had killed my mother's
dragon and burned the village, I became so enraged that I called
Titan on them. I was later able to forgive Cecil and Kain because
they didn't know what was in that package. Besides, I realized
that he wasn't out to destroy me when he defended me against
those guards at the Kaipo INN.
How do you feel about being the last Caller in the world?:
I feel sort of honored, though I wish it never had to be that way.
At times I get worried about whether or not I will die before I
have children. Then our race would be extinct. If I were
to marry another Caller man, then our child would have full
Caller abilities. Since there are none left, the children of mine
and their children, and so on, the Caller ability will get weaker
and weaker with every generation.
How did you feel when you saw how violently Anna died?:
I was very sad for Edward, who was hysterical over her body at
the time. It must have been so hard for him to see the love of
his life having an arrow sticking from her body. I knew how he
felt, how it was to lose a loved one.
Can you tell us a little about the events when you were
swallowed by Leviatan?:
Sure. I don't remember a lot though. I do recall falling off of
the ship and into the water. The water was SO cold! I can still
taste the salt in my mouth as I tried to keep on the surface. I
saw Yang jump in after me, but he never got to me. The last thing
I remember seeing before going under was Edward toppling over the
edge of the ship. It went black after that. The next thing I
knew, I was in the Land of the Summoned Monsters. To me, I was
there for years 13 to be exact, for time flows differently there.
By the time I came back to Cecil, I was 21 years old and I had
only been missing from him for 3 weeks!
Tell us a little about your 13 years on the Land of the
Summoned Monsters:
At first, I was scared because there were so many different
creatures. Leviathan and Asura were great mentors to me. It took
me many years to learn the many different calls that I know now.
I was aware of the fact that time flowed differently but I was
surprised one day, after I had spent so many years there, when
Leviathan told me that Cecil needed help fighting Golbez at the
Dwarf Castle. I didn't realize it was so dramatic, but I was
thrilled to be able to help my "big brother" again!
How did you feel when Kain betrayed you and your friends
twice?!:
I was furious, Cristi, furious. Even when he finally came back to
us for good in the Giant, I wasn't very trusting of him. To see
the hurt in Cecil's eyes when Kain left us was unbearable. Kain
has some serious problems with himself that he needs to work out.
Hopefully one day, he can come back to us, but only when he is
secure again with who he is.
Now for the million GP question...what are you feelings for
Edge?:
(smiles and blushes) As I said before, he is a very handsome
fellow. He pursued me relentlessly during our whole quest to
defeat Zeromus. For the longest time, I blew him off, but now
that is over...(she smiles shyly)
