Obviously, due to Kip’s reaction, TsuMe has hit the nail on the head. Kip can try to skirt the issues as much as he likes, but he can’t do much to fool TsuMe when it comes down to it.
Who said TsuMe was all doom, gloom and total serious? He’s got a sense of humor, but it’s usually only when he sees an opening to nail someone with a snide comment (which he enjoys to the absolute). Luckily, Kip is good-natured enough to recognize TsuMe’s insults as poking fun. And that’s why they actually (gasp) do seem to get along together… somehow.
