Gorubeza ~ A Child's Rhyme
This is a popular children’s rhyme known throughout the Blue Planet. It’s also a tale often used by parents to scare children into not straying outside at night… though the majority of adult commoners believe the words of the verse to be truth just as much as the children do.
Note: “Gorubeza” is simply a different pronunciation of the name “Golbez”.
After the sun slips beyond the horizon,
As the day fades into the night,
Somewhere upon the chill winds of darkness,
Gorubeza rides a mighty steed across the sky.
Until the dawn heralds the day
And he must return to his domain,
Far aloft — where even the brave
Dare not venture forth.
Lord Gorubeza rides on the west wind
Stealing the souls from those he does see,
Sealing them off in the depths of his tower
Forever to stay condemned to a dark eternity.
So if you’re alone in the hours of twilight,
Hurry back home before it’s too late!
Or Gorubeza, the Master of Darkness,
Will carry you off to a world
Where only time can tell your fate.
