Final Fantasy 4 Item List Order is important: This is the order in which you get the items using the Gunslinger Game Genie code. Using some Game Genie codes, I've found that this list is in fact backwards to the actual order of the item list. This order, however, is much more useful. Edited by Barubary to account for FF4. Item names (like Princess's Kiss) are translated directly. I'm not sure who the original author of this is. Various typos and mistakes have been corrected, as were lies. For instance, in the original Dummy's after -Sort- were said to unstone the twins. There is *no* way to unstone them, even in FF4. Rumors suck. Just so you know, I *don't* know any Japanese. You can email me at barubary@dal.net. I have not given credit to my Japanese friend who translated these because I don't want to associate any real name with my nickname. Many of the names are very different from other existing translations. For instance, this document lists the Fast-casting item as Hermes' Shoes. Other translations have said Elmes' Shoes or Shoes of Elmes. None of them are wrong, though, because (in this example) you can drop the H and do R-L translation to get the other version. So all of the names somewhat make sense. Gunslinger: Gunslinger is about the best GG code ever made for FF2/4. It allows you to get any item in the game at any point you can press X. Final Fantasy 2 version 1: 00CE-6D69 Final Fantasy 2 version 2: unknown Final Fantasy 4 easy: unknown Final Fantasy 4 hard: 00CF-A469 To use, put an item you don't want (or have 99 of) in the top left corner without GG on. Don't have the GG on when you don't want to use this ability because it becomes very annoying. Go to the item screen (obviously) and use any item that allows you to select a target. Choose the middle character, and the top left item will change to the item below the one you changed on this list. That simple. Miscellaneous: * indicates a Dummy item in FF2. : Does absolutely nothing. Actual item #0 : Throw items in your inventory away. Actual item #255 -Sort-: Organize your inventory. Actual item #254, etc... *Scenario 16: ??? Current belief is that these are used internally by the *Scenario 15: ??? game to control what events play. *Dark Matter: Reduces the damage of Big Bang. Steal from Zeromus (!). Tower Key: Unlocks the door to the cannon room in the Tower of Bab-il. Get it by defeating Dr. Lugae at the top floor of this tower. Pink Tail: A rare tail which, when given to the tail collector, is exchanged for the most powerful armor in the game, Adamant armor. Find it by defeating Pink Puffs on the moon, in the Lunar Subterrain. Alarm item will help. Pan: This is given to you by Yang's wife. After you find Yang out cold in the Sylvan Cave, return to Fabul, and talk to Yang's wife. She will give you the pan. Return to Yang's side and use it on him to wake him up. The Sylphs will give you a call spell, Sylph. Try to do this before you go to the moon. Adamant: This legendary ore, if given to the right person, can be molded into a very powerful sword. Give it to Smithy, the blacksmith, in the underworld. Must be given with the Legend sword. In exchange, he will give you Excalibur. Rat Tail: Trade with the tail collector for the rare ore, Adamant. It can be found in the Summoned Cave in the underworld. Trade this and the Light sword to the Blacksmith near the dwarf castle for Excalibur. Dark Crystal: You must recover this from the Sealed Cave. You can also get one by having Rydia cast Warp when you return to Giott's room after Golbez's hand takes the crystal. Talk to the crystal. When you walk into the Sealed Cave, Kain will take the crystal as if you went through the cave. Depending on your party, you may want to go through anyway. Twin Harp: Demagnetizes Cave Magnes. Given to you by Edward, after you find him in Toroia. (called "hisou hisou" in FF4, a legendary pair of plants that when you say something to one of the plants the other plant says it as well) Lucca Key: Unlocks the Sealed Cave in the Underworld. Given to you by Giott, the Dwarf King. Magma Bomb: Throw this into the well at Agart to open the way to the underworld. Given to you by Kain. Earth Crystal: You must recover this from the Dark Elf and trade it to save Rosa from Golbez. Use Weak on him for a quick fight (and I think it works for Pale Dim too :) ) Sand Ruby: Cures Rosa's fever. Get from Antlion. Baron Key: Unlocks 2 doors in the town of Baron. Package: Given to you by the fake king. Destroys the town of Mist. Whistle: Calls your Big Chocobo whenever you use it. Only available for purchase on the moon. Pass: Allows you entrance to a (stupid) show in Toroia. Carrot: Calls a Chocobo whenever it "smells like Chocobos". Call Magics: Use them to have Rydia permanently learn them. Mage: A Mage appears and takes about 1000 dmg. Attacks one enemy. *Roc: A cockatrice appears and turns an enemy to stone (which kills them) Bomb: Calls a Bomb to attack. Attacks one enemy. VERY powerful. Imp: Calls an Imp to attack one enemy. Sucks. Items: Some items (like map) can be used infinitely. *Dwarf Bread: (weird name for a map) Casts Sight. *Emergency Door: Casts Exit *Porno Mag: The legendary Porno Mag! Probably the only true rumor about FF4, the status screen info says "A book I like to read!" and when you use it, it says "You're getting 'excited'...!". It really sucks that this was removed :) You get this in FF4's programmers' room from a bomb (Kiyoshi Yoshi). Sleep Harp my ass :) Cabin: Heals all conditions, restores ALL MP/HP. Tent: Restores 100 MP/1000 HP *Soma Drop: Increase max MP by 10. *Silver Apple: Increase max HP by 50. *Golden Apple: Increase max HP by 100. *Alarm: Calls enemies to fight you. Use where you could fight an enemy that can give you a very rare item like Pink Tail and the item call spells. IE if you're near Baron you'll be able to fight 6 Imps; if you're in Cave Magnes you'll fight 2 Mages. Heal: Heal all conditions. *Cross: Cures Curse. *Antidote: Cures Poison. *Eyedrop: Cures Darkness. *Echo Herb: Cures Mute. *Diet Food: Cures Piggy. *Apprentice Hammer: Cures Tiny. *Princess's Kiss: Cures Frog. *Golden Pin: Cures Stone. Life1: Brings a character back to life. Elixir: Restores ALL MP/HP (one character). Ether2: Restores MP (alot). Ether1: Restores MP (some). Cure3: Restores HP (alot). Cure2: Restores HP (many). Cure1: Restores HP (some). *Unicorn Horn: Heals all conditions on everyone during fight. *Alarm Clock: Wakes up all asleep players during fight. *Monster Encyclopedia: Peep. Works on all monsters, including bosses. *Call Book: Summons a random monster. *Kuar's Whisker: Casts Death. Crystal: White Nuke. Use against long-hair Zeromus. *Quake Drum: Casts Quake. *Bell of Silence: Mute all enemies. *Moon Curtain: Casts Wall on user. Lasts longer than Light Curtain. *Bomb Spirit: Sacrifice user to do their HP in damage. *Light Curtain: Casts Wall on user. Lit-Bolt: A lightning bolt attacks all enemies in battle. *Ice-Ball: Icicles stab all enemies from above and below. Fire-Bomb: A blast of fire sweeps through your enemies in battle. *Scape Doll: Vanish on user. *Spider Silk: Slow on all enemies. *Golden Hourglass: Stop on all enemies (strongest). *Silver Hourglass: Stop on all enemies. *Copper Hourglass: Stop on all enemies. *Hermes' Shoes: Fast on user. *Berserk Liquor: Berserk on user. *Vampire Fang: Casts Drain. *Lillith's Kiss: Casts Psych. *Stardust: Casts Comet. *Wrath of the Gods: Casts Lit3. *Wrath of Zeus: Casts Lit2. *Wind of North Pole: Casts Ice3. *Wind of South Pole: Casts Ice2. *Bomb's Right Hand: Casts Fire3. *Bomb Fragment: Casts Fire2. In battle, go to item screen and choose this item, then press up until you see the character's equipped items. Put this in the empty hand. Not that equipping does any good (-10 power, attack with hands, not bow). You can use these things as items in battle when equipped (big deal). For some reason, this useless item disappears if it's in the normal item list after battle. Artemis: \ Medusa: \ Bows and Arrows are tricky.
